About The Cyclades Greek Islands
A loosely knit scattering of some twenty six inhabited islands, set in the Aegean, stretching south towards Crete, west beneath the island of Evia and east towards the island grouping that edges the Turkish mainland.
Alternative names: Kiklades, Kikladhes, Kykladen
The Cyclades group of islands include the hugely popular islands of Mykonos and Santorini, which as they are such favourites with tourists are good islands to buy property on if you want to be able to rent out your holiday home when you're not using it to cover your upkeep costs.
These islands offer the full range of types available. The whole group has taken tourism to heart to a greater extent than elsewhere in Greece but still retains it's charm and culture.
Individual preference will decide which island is for you but all have the Meltemi winds that blow from the north from mid July to Mid September and granite mountain sides in common.
The growth of tourism in the region ensures that access to the Cyclades group of islands is good with many of the islands having their own airports.
