GEOGRAPHY: Pretty countryside, long narrow island. Profusion of vegetated countryside. 20km from top to bottom, up to 5.5km at it's widest point with a total area of 64kms.
GENERAL IMPRESSIONS: Rather a sophisticated place without mass tourism, but many private villa owners. Patitiri has been rebuilt with a new harbour, gardens etc. Alonissos is a lovely, unspoilt and quiet island, situated in one of the few Marine Parks in the Mediterranean, known for its Monkseal colony and many dolphins. It can be reached via Skiathos by hovercraft. Many hiking trails and great for boating. Green throughout the year. Clean peaceful beaches and quiet forests.
