Articles: Help - What does the Administrator do between my submitting and you publishing

As soon as you click submit (during creation or editing) your article goes into moderation and cannot be seen on our site. It takes between 6 - 24 hours for your article(s) to be published live after you have clicked the submit button at the end of entering or editing your article because it is first checked by a real person (our Administrator and her Team). This is what they do when your article is in moderation (the bit in between submission and publishing live):

Your article is read to make sure it is suitable content for our site.

It is double checked for English spelling and grammar. Language flaws are corrected.

Your article is checked against our conditions including copyright.

Our Administrator may contact you to clarify a point of understanding or for verification of a statement you make.

The Administration Team will optimise your article for search engines, adding meta-tags, including an abstract, copyright, description & keywords.

Where appropriate, internal and external reference links will be activated. For example if you refer in your article to a business listed in the FREE Business Card Directory for the island you are referring to, an internal link will be added to that business' contact details. Or if you refer to an advert for your own property for sale or business an internal link will be added to your advertising entry (whether Free or paid for) in our site. Or if you refer to the website of a non-listed business/organisation, we will set up an External link to that URL and invite them to exchange reciprocal links with us.

We will layout your articles with text formating and insert any images you supply.

You will have submitted your article to the "Articles" category but if the Administration Team feel it is appropriate they will additionally add your article to other categories in our site by island or subject.

You will be notified as soon as your article has been accepted and published with a message to tell you where it can be seen and what additional information has been added, etc.

Once published, your specific article page will be submitted to all the search engines and Internet directories that we regularly add to (including Dmoz.org & Yahoo).

We may contact you to ask for your permission to add your article to our regular member's Newsletter.
